“But if your heart is full of bitter jealousy and selfishness, don’t brag or lie to cover up the truth. That kind of wisdom doesn’t come from God. It is worldly and selfish (I think, I want, I feel) and comes from the devil himself. Whenever people are jealous or selfish, they cause trouble and do all sorts of cruel evil things. But the wisdom that comes from God leads us to be pure, friendly, gentle, sensible, kind, helpful, genuine, and sincere.” (James 3:14-17)

Friend, not all ideas and wisdom you received are from God. Unless it leads you to Christ and teaches you to become more like Christ it is from the evil one. For that is the purpose of God for all of us—to be Christlike.
