Deep Thought #261

To every shepherd is given a flock of sheep. And the shepherd’s job is to take care of the sheep’s needs and keep them from harm’s way. Sheep are stupid and can’t do things on their own, that’s why God uses sheep to represent us. It is unthinkable when shepherds expect the sheep to take care of their own needs. If shepherds have needs they should take it to the Boss who is God the Father and trust that in His mercy and kindness He will provide all their needs rather than going after the sheep and forcing them to yield more wool. John 10 teaches us clearly that Jesus is the good Shepherd but the hirelings only care for themselves. So, to all leaders in the body of Christ, be a good shepherd and not a hireling. Remember, we reap what we sow, more than we sow and later than we sow. Take heed!
