Deep Thought #525

How often have you heard people pray, “Lord if it be your will…”? If you don’t know God’s will then you should get into God’s word. For God’s word (the Bible) is God’s will. And, how often do you hear people pray, “Lord if you don’t want me to, stop me now!”

It is never: “Yes” unless God says “No.” It is always: “No” unless God says “Yes.” The truth is we all want what we want, when we want it, how we want it done, my way or highway, etc.

Friend, did you know God refers to stubbornness as being equal to foolishness? The book of Proverbs displays the blessing and the curses between the wise and the foolish. Here is an example:

Proverbs 12:15 “A stubborn fool considers his own way the right one, but a person who listens to advice is wise.”

So, get on and get into the word of God. For the fear (understanding, reverence) of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Amen.
