Deep Thought #103

The ultimate purpose of Satan’s temptation is not to get you to sin but to get you to doubt God (Genesis 2 and Mathew 4). If Satan can get you to doubt God, he will have succeeded in his evil desire, which is to destroy God’s creation, in other words, our relationship with the Father. Nothing hurts God more than our unbelief in Him and His love for us. And Satan knows just how to use us to hurt our Savior. Nevertheless, Satan only has the power we have given him; he is powerless without our cooperation. So be wise as serpents and gentle as doves. Know when to fold and when to call. Satan loves to play poker games with you. Be smart!
