Why do I keep emphasizing the importance of living by the Holy Spirit? The answer is simple:

Romans 8:13-14 “For if you live by your corrupt nature (flesh; I think, I feel, I want), you are going to die (spiritual death). But if you live by the Spirit of God and use your spiritual nature to put to death the evil activities of the flesh, you will live (Peace, joy, hope, love. Everlasting Live). Therefore, those who are lived by the Spirit of God are the children of God.”

Friend, voices are a multitude and one cannot truly distinguish real from fake, God or devil unless through the scrutiny of the Holy Spirit. Period!
