The first commandment, “You must not have any other god but Me” (Exodus 20:3).

Do you know the reason why God made that the first commandment?

The reason we must not have any other god (people, things, career, etc.) is so that the devil cannot use it to torment us. The enemy is constantly crawling around us seeking whom, what and how he may use to devour us. But he cannot use God to torment us. For God alone is the creator and everything else is created. Creation can never be greater than the creator. So, of whom shall you fear, if you put God first in your life?
