Deep Thought #354

In Matthew 22:14 Jesus says, “Many are called but few are chosen.” How many times have you felt like you were called to do a certain thing or speak up or express the truth in church or in a meeting, and so you acted upon God’s prompting, but then suddenly you realized people were not so friendly anymore and you became the topic of bad gossip? Have you ever experienced that? Then we got discouraged and hurt, so we gave up prematurely and the assignment was never carried out. Does that sound familiar? The truth is, dear friend, Jesus warns us in John 15 that the world will hate us because of Him, and in Matthew 10:22 Jesus also says, “You will be hated by all for my name’s sake (for Truth sake). But the one who endures to the end will be saved.”

What more can I say? Only the strong survive and continue on with the torch. However, we are weak without the Holy Spirit, for it is written, “My strength makes perfect in your weakness.” Don’t quit! You are important to God. You are part of His plan.
